God has a radical and scandalous love for sinners. The Bible shows that in so many ways, in fact the story of the Bible can be understood as the great drama of God's love for sinners and how he saves them through the cross of Jesus Christ. That love is not sentimental, but it is compassionate and redemptive. The Greek word that describes that love is agape, and it is that love that Paul tells us has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
